ChoiceMMed Medical Finger Pulse Oximeter

A pulse oximeter measures your blood oxygen saturation level (SpO₂) and pulse rate. The ChoiceMMed oximeter also displays a pulse waveform and pulse-strength bar.

Insert your finger fully into the device with your nail facing upward, press the button and keep your hand relaxed and still. Wait a few seconds for the SpO₂ and pulse-rate readings to stabilise.

For many healthy adults, an SpO₂ reading between 95% and 100% is generally considered normal. However, acceptable levels can differ for people with COPD, other respiratory conditions or those living at higher altitudes. Always follow the target range provided by your healthcare professional.

If your reading is lower than your normal or prescribed range, rest, warm your hand and repeat the measurement. Contact a healthcare professional if it remains low. Seek urgent medical assistance if you experience severe shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion or blue lips or fingertips—regardless of the displayed reading.

Small fluctuations are normal. Movement, cold hands, poor circulation, nail polish, artificial nails and incorrect finger positioning can affect the reading. Remain still and wait for a stable result before recording it.

Yes. Dark nail polish and artificial nails can interfere with the light used by the sensor. For the most reliable result, use a clean, bare fingernail whenever possible.

Yes. It can be used to monitor SpO₂ and pulse rate while receiving prescribed oxygen therapy. However, never change your oxygen flow rate based only on an oximeter reading unless instructed by your doctor or oxygen specialist.

No. A pulse oximeter is a useful monitoring tool, but it cannot diagnose a medical condition. Readings should be considered together with your symptoms and your healthcare professional’s advice.

The oximeter uses two AAA batteries, which are included. It provides a real-time battery-status indication and automatically switches off after your finger has been removed for more than five seconds.
